Photo via Isla Austin Have you heard? Martine Honeysuckle Liqueur is the newest endeavor from the people who brought you Dripping Springs Vodka and Paula’s Limoncello.  Martine? What does that mean? After a quick Google search, I found that Martine is often used as a female name. As a name fanatic and I love that each of our names mean something unique and beautiful. Martine comes from French origin and means energetic, resolute and determined woman who could appear calm, reserved, strong and self-assured.  Most English speaking…Continue Reading “Martine Honeysuckle Liqueur”

Like our friends at 512 Tequila, Pepe Z recently went through their own re-branding. Trina Bentley at Make and Matter led the charge on this design. Quick notes include the addition of the Pepe Z’s awards to the neck label as well as a new white label. Previously Trina has worked on the Swift Single Malt Whiskey label. Goodness, how I love the look of that fox. Great design.  As for Pepe Z, they have working in the world of since 2008 and was founded by Pepe…Continue Reading “Re-Branding Pepe Z Tequila”

You may not know it yet but Jim Murray has your dream job. For the past thirteen years, he has published his yearly Whiskey Bible! With this edition, he boasts to have reviewed over 4,600 whiskies from across the globe. 4,600. That number just blows my mind. If Jim drank everyday for a year, that would mean he would have to drink 12.6 different whiskies daily. But let’s assume he only works during the week and doesn’t take his work home with him. As a…Continue Reading “Jim Murray 2017 Whiskey Bible And Texas”

Photo via Balcones Distillery In 2008, Balcones Distillery began to make whiskey in Waco, Texas. And over the years they have given us several great small batch releases. One of my favorites is the FR.Oak – a single malt finished in french oak barrels. Goodness, what a gem that was. On Saturday, November 12, Balcones will be showcasing their new downtown location. I suspect it will be one hell of a good time. Tickets went on sale on Monday in Waco and  sold out fairly…Continue Reading “Balcones Debuts New Distillery”

I have been holding my lips on this for a while now. About a month and a half ago, I went to visit my friends at Iron Root Republic. And they quickly mentioned this beautiful opportunity.  Berry Bros & Rudd and Ironroot Republic teamed up to release a Texas Bourbon in London. You might be asking yourself how this happened.  How about some back story? Texas became a sovereign republic on March 2, 1836 and remained free until February 19, 1846. Oh and how Texans…Continue Reading “A Texas Bourbon In London”

512 Tequila just went through a massive re-branding thanks to the help of the Butler Brothers. And goodness, they finally have a label that wont get lost on your shelf or make you think it’s hemp infused. Hmmm, maybe that is something their new VP, Chris Cain, is working on. Cain helped build brands like Firstone and Robertson’s TX Whiskey and took Dulce Vida Tequila go international.  And now that 512 has raised $1.5 million investment in the bank, I expect to see 512 everywhere…Continue Reading “Re-branding for 512 Tequila”
